Take a Cold Coffee Break at Starbucks

Hong Kong's favorite coffeehouse kicks off its summer season with innovative handcrafted beverages and menu items

As the weather heats up, Starbucks invites you to chill out with a deliciously refreshing lineup of cool beverages, tasty dishes for pairing with your favorite coffee, and quality whole-bean offerings.

From now till May 28, stop by your favorite neighborhood Starbucks store for a rejuvenating Dulce de Leche Frappuccino® Blended Coffee. The classic Latin American flavor combination of milk and caramel, combined with coffee, blended with ice and topped with whipped cream and a caramel topping, makes for a great mid-day escape.

Also just in time for the warmer weather is the Ham, Cheese & Portobello Mushroom Ciabatta. And be sure to treat yourself to dessert with the Passion Fruit Cake, full of tropical flavor and a great match for a Starbucks iced latte or the featured whole bean coffee of the promotion period, Muan Jai Blend™.

Also this May, Starbucks invites you to celebrate its 8th year in Hong Kong with a special Anniversary Cake - Coffee and White Chocolate Mousse Cake, available whole or by the slice. Featuring a base of crisp hazelnut, a layer of chocolate sponge cake and coffee mousse, and a top layer with white chocolate and Bailey’s, and finished with wild berries, coffee beans and gold flake, this specially made dessert is one more way Hong Kong’s favorite coffee house is saying “thank you” to its customers this spring!

Whole Bean Coffee that Makes a Difference
Until May 28, home coffee-brewing enthusiasts will want to take home a bag or two of Muan Jai Blend™, a coffee that was created to showcase the quality, high-altitude coffee being grown in Thailand. The beans are bought directly from the local Thai hill tribe farmers, providing a guaranteed price for farmers that is higher than the industry standard. Combined with other Starbucks initiatives for a range of social projects in Thailand, including freshwater sanitation systems and childcare centers in the north, it’s a partnership benefiting both the country and Starbucks coffee lovers.

Introduced to Starbucks stores in Thailand in 2003, Muan Jai Blend™, which means “wholehearted happiness” in Thai, has a bold earthy taste with spicy notes, a medium body and pairs well with dishes containing chocolate, almonds and cinnamon.

New Merchandise and Great Promotions
If you’re a collector, or if you have coffee enthusiast friends living abroad, then the new Hong Kong Bearista® is a great way to send warm greetings from far away.

Warm weather means cool tunes, and what better way to get your groove on than with the latest music collections from Starbucks? “Out of Sight” features funk, soul, R&B and jazz selections from the early 1960s through the ‘70s and into the new century. Featuring the “Godfather of Soul” James Brown, Al Green, Chaka Khan, The Commodores, Parliament and more, “Out Of Sight” provides the soundtrack of the summer. Also perfect for the season is the latest Opus Collection, “Scattered Sun” from seminal ‘60s band The Doors.
