Security Tips for keeping your account safe

1.Prevent phishing attack

Phishing is a fraudulent attempt to trick target victim to provide sensitive information, such as personal data, account passwords and credit card details, by disguising oneself as a trustworthy entity.

For example, a phishing email may tempt you to visit a web site which imitates Starbucks and request for your sensitive information. In most cases, attackers attempt to compromise your account and steal your sensitive information.

If you receive any suspicious email or phone call from Starbuck which asks for your personal information, please contact us and delete the message from your email.

• Do not download Starbucks App from unofficial channels other than Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

• Apps downloaded from unofficial channels may result with exposure to your login credentials or personal information.

2. Protect your account

Ensure your mobile phone has password protection and is kept being updated with the latest version.

3. Protect your password

Create a secure and high complex password. For convenience and security, we recommend you enable biometric authentication methods including fingerprint or facial recognition for login.

4. Receive real-time push notifications

Real-time push helps us to deliver updated information to you. You can check your account anytime in the Starbucks app. If you notice any unusual account activity, please contact us immediately.

5. Never share your password

Starbucks will never request for your passwords or credit card details by email, SMS or phone. Do not share your Starbucks member account information and passwords (including One-time Password (OTP) for transaction) with anyone who claims to be Starbucks staff.
